The Copeland™ Stream Digital series features technology that provides stepless output of 50…100% (4 cylinders) and 30…100% (6 cylinders) to ensure accurate temperature control and system efficiency. The digital application is a much simpler alternative to frequency converters and offers the same control and energy-saving benefits. The digital application can be easily and quickly implemented in any existing system design.
The digital mechanism is based on blocking the suction in one of the compressor pistons. This control allows the compressor output to be freely adjusted between 30-100%.
Controlling output provides many advantages:
• Continuous application ensures perfect matching of output and power to the desired load
• Cost-effective and reliable alternative to variable speed drives
• Precise suction pressure control with energy savings
• Reduced maintenance and longer service life through improved compressor reliability and reduced wear as a result of up to 90% reduction in compressor cycling
