Freon™ MO29 (R-422D) refrigerant is a low-toxicity, non-ozone-depleting hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) alternative to R-22 refrigerant for direct expansion systems.
Compatible with traditional and new lubricants, including mineral oils (MO), alkylbenzene (AB), and polyolester (POE), most systems compatible with Freon™ MO29 do not require a change in the current oil.
This multi-purpose coolant works in existing direct expansion refrigeration applications at medium and low temperatures.
Freon™ MO29 is also suitable for DX air conditioning applications, including DX water chillers.
Freon™ MO29 refrigeration:
Offers similar capacity and efficiency to R-22
Provides lower compression temperatures than R-22, which may extend compressor life
Features and benefits
Cost-effective upgrades (and easier upgrades) compared to R-404A, R-507, and R-407C
GWP is 30% lower than R-404A and R-507
Improved cooling capacity of up to 8% and up to 14% Improved efficiency compared to R-22 at low temperature conditions
Slightly lower cooling capacity (~5%) and similar efficiency compared to R-22 under moderate temperature conditions, with cooling of 6°C (10°F)
