Freon™ MO59 (R-417A) refrigerant is used as a retrofit replacement for R-22 hydrofluorocarbon (HFC).
In direct expansion (DX) air conditioning (AC) applications and medium temperature commercial refrigeration systems.
Since Freon™ MO59 is compatible with mineral oils (MO), alkylbenzene (AB), and polyolester (POE) – new systems do not require a change in lubricant.
Therefore, reinstalling stationary commercial DX AC and medium-temperature refrigeration systems from R-22 takes much less time and investment.
