About the product

Opteon™ XL20 (R-454C) refrigerant, which is ozone-friendly and has a global warming potential (GWP) of 148, is based on hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) and offers similar performance to refrigerants such as R-404A and R-22.

Opteon™ XL20 enables significantly higher refrigerant charges in systems than other flammable refrigerants.

Marked with ASHRAE A2L safety classification.

Systems in which Opteon™ XL20 can be used include:

Supermarket refrigeration systems, including decentralized systems, coolers/freezers, and food preparation rooms
Condensing units used for food service, cold storage, and stand-alone systems Features and benefits
Opteon™ XL20 has a GWP of 148 (a reduction of 96% compared to R-404A). This falls below the important 150 limit specified in the EU F-Gas Regulation and Ecological Directive, enabling the adoption of Opteon™ XL20 refrigerant as a long-term solution.

This cooling allows for larger charges of refrigerants compared to highly flammable refrigerants with an ASHRAE safety classification of A3.

Opteon™ XL20 also provides:

Close match to R-404A and R-22 performance
Combination with polyolester (POE) lubricants.
A slight addition after repairing leaks
